Maybe it's not my weekend

...but it's going to be my year! (lyrics from "Weightless" by All Time Low)

My friend Cisco who used to play with Vanilla Sky sent me the link to the video from which today's title was selected.  I guess being in a band, he's probably shared in similar thoughts.  As a concert photographer, ergo a regular concert attendee, I always wondered what the bands and people around me were thinking.  I think this video confirms my suspicions.

Anyways, I'll actually be photographing All Time Low tonight at Towson University. 6 PM, $24.  If you're in the area, check em out with We The Kings, Cartel, and Days Difference

If only they knew...

(song by A Rocket To The Moon)

my chucks with ARTTMSo... I am by no means "famous," but this was kind of cool.  Worn Free clothing was mentioned on Barricade Buzz a few months back, and they offered to send me one of their shirts.  I wasn't sure what to expect, but they hooked me up with a Debbie Harry "PUNK" t-shirt... and I'm not going to lie, I love it.  I ended up wearing it to my interview with A Rocket To The Moon at the 9:30 Club, and snapped a photo of the band.  The folks at Worn Free happened to notice it, and added it to their blog.  I'm a rockstar now (not by any means). Check it out: Worn Free blog. (warning: I am NOT a model.)

She's got no limit

("Josey" by Hey Monday)

So back in April I had the pleasure of interviewing a band called Hey Monday when they opened for Fall Out Boy on the Believers Never Die Part Duex Tour.  It was a pretty cool experience for me since we shot the footage for Barricade Buzz on their tour bus; a first for me.

They're a female led pop-punk group from Florida with a sound that's comparable to the likes of Paramore.  They released their first album, Hold On Tight, last year that features the very talented vocals of lead singer, Cassadee Pope.

Anyways, I was checking out their page today and came across this video, which was shot at the show I was photographing at.  Sadly, I'm not in the footage, but it was still cool to see nonetheless.

Here's video from the Merriweather Post Pavilion:

Nightmare

(a song by Vanilla Sky featuring Mark Hoppus of Blink182)

So I will be photographing Van's Warped Tour this year in DC (well, techincally Maryland) and last night I had a dream (more like a nightmare) that I showed up to the event (or what was the event... clearly not the actual venue in my head), handed about 50 different passes without explanation (apparently in this scenario a pass was required for every band + his/her mother), directed to some place that didn't have a stage, could not find a schedule, and when I finally found the guys in A Rocket to the Moon, and began to set my camera, the battery was dead.  If anyone is a dream interpretor, please tell me what this means.  Am I going to have an awful time at Warped?! Ah! (insert panic).

Twilight's Last Gleaming

(that would be from "The Star Spangled Banner")

It was a georgeous Independence Day here in America's capital.  I couldn't resist heading out to the National Mall with some friends and taking some photos.
